WAR WITHOUT END

Hear me Autobots... We are destroyed, whipped like curs! We have failed, and in that failure shamed ourselves beyond redemption! We leave you now to begin the solitary exile that honour demands!

The final words of the Decepticon leader Bludgeon after his defeat at the hands of Optimus Prime and the Last Autobot on Klo in the Earth year 1991. But peace never comes that easily. Three years later a band of Autobots lead by Grimlock comes to the aid of a  world on the edges of known Galactic space. It is a band like many others, serving as peacekeepers and peacemakers in the absence of their Decepticon foe. But on that day they face a new breed of Decepticon. In the ashes of their victory they find a horrifying discovery. Optimus Prime comes forth heeding a mysterious call from his unruly Dinobot commander while deep in his soul he feels the onset of an overwhelming doom. As Prime and Grimlock meet on a desolated world a bird of prey circles above their heads. The ground they stand on is failure: a failed Cybertron... The Autobots have awoken a hornets nest.

Seventeen worlds remade in Cybertron’s image spread across sectors of space and there are indications of countless others. Before the thought can sink in their enemy has found them. Their vessels are destroyed and they are marched off as prisoners. Prime and Grimlock are brought to face Jhiaxus. Liege Centurio of the  elite forces of the Cybertronian Empire, this new tyrant has chilling words for those he regards as his ancestors...

It is not a question of good or evil – lesser beings simply have no value to us....

...Autobot, Decepticon – these are outmoded concepts. The war is over....

During the four million year period that the forces of Optimus Prime and Megatron had lain dormant on Earth, a paradigm had shifted.  A group of Decepticons, sick of the savourless hunting of Autobot rebels across the burnt out husk of Cybertron, abandoned their home world in search of greater glory. Over the millennia, they had changed and grown leaving behind all regard for other forms of life and even their past. Autobot, Decepticon were no more, there was only the Cybertronian Empire, perfect, except for this one tattered facet that had just been found. They must make the choice and join the new order...

To make matters worse, while responding to Grimlock’s urgent message, word had come from Earth.... Megatron was back. Recreated, with  a new form constructed in concert with the human faction known as Cobra, Megatron had returned with powers whose depths even he did not know. The team of Autobots sent to contain him were horribly slaughtered. Brawn, Chase, Steeljaw and Override all died in instants at Megatron’s hands. But before he could leave Earth in the Autobots’ former craft the Ark, two stowaways boarded in hopes of stopping this force of nature but Prime and the other Autobots know nothing of these outcomes...

Back on the Cybertronian flagship Twilight,  Prime and Grimlock lead the Autobots out of their captivity and off into a new terrifying future. But they were not alone. Jhiaxus follows hoping to follow them back and to put an end to his ancestors once and for all...
