Headmaster
A Transformer who exists in a symbiotic relationship with a humanoid who has been bio-engineered to transform into the Transformer’s head. The pairing (binary bonding) is not always equal. More often the Transformer’s personality becomes highly dominant, sometimes totally submerging the humanoid half. The late Decepticon leader Scorponok was highly unusual in that his humanoid component Lord Zarak was the dominant personality.
Targetmaster
A Transformer whose weapon is a bio-engineered humanoid. The bonding is to a much lesser degree. Both personalities are independent.
Powermaster
A Transformer who is fuelled by a humanoid bio-engineered into a living power plant.
Pretender
A Transformer who possesses a techno-organic outer shell which increases strength and resistence to damage. This outer shell can be operated mentally by the Transformer thereby providing the Pretender its own backup. The cost of this telepathic relationship is that any damage done to the shell is felt doubly by its owner. The mental shock of a shell’s destruction can be enough to kill its owner. The shells can be of any form. Decepticon shells are often monstrous, Autobot shells are often human in appearance.
Space Bridge
A technology for instantaneous transport from any point in the universe to the other in vented by the neutral scientist Spanner. The original Space bridge was constructed from Spanner himself by the Decepticons under Straxus. In a long painful process Spanner was converted into a large bridge-like structure that when activated formed a trans-warp (aka trans-time) corridor. This corridor was very sensitive and would destroy any thing that passed through the sides of it. The Space Bridge was the precursor of the later trans-time portals and trans warp gates which were much smaller and more reliable.
Underbase
The database which was the total sum of all the knowledge of Cybertron’s Golden Age. The Underbase due to its nature possessed a power too great for one being to possess. In the early days of the Civil War a young Autobot lieutenant who would become Optimus Prime sought out the Underbase as a solution to the planet’s woes and to prevent the Underbase from falling into Megatron’s hands. However Megatron followed and nearly captured the Underbase. Optimus was forced to blast the Underbase into space to save it. This action was what made the young lieutenant’s name and was to lead to him becoming Prime and Autobot Commander. The Underbase travelled through space as an energy phenomenon until it was discovered that it would pass by Earth in the late 1980's by Decepticon commander Ratbat. However Starscream true to form betrayed his commander and managed to absorb a portion of the Underbase’s energies as it passed though the solar system. Starscream became a being of great power and attacked both Autobots and Decepticons on Earth leaving dozens on both sides deactivated. Optimus Prime was able to use Starscream’s greed against him by drawing him away from Earth and allowing him to absorb all of the Underbase’s energy which destroyed the treacherous Decepticon.
