Unicron
A being of near limitless power, Unicron was born in a time before our universe existed. The embodiment of chaos Unicron destroyed his universe, consuming it, leaving only the void. His task done, the Chaos-Bringer slept in his cocoon of infinite nothingness. But he was not thorough and fragments of the dead universe coalesced over time and in a violent reaction exploded to form our universe. Unicron awoke from his slumber to find a new universe teeming with the highest degree of order... life. He set out once again to finish his task properly and destroy the “lifestain”, but our universe had made a protector for itself, Primus. The two beings fought and in the process much of the life Primus sought to protect was destroyed. Knowing that he could not defeat Unicron, Primus using Unicron’s lust for the kill was able to trick the dark god and imprisoned both of them in lifeless metal asteroids for all eternity. However after eons had passed, Unicron began to discover that he could shape his prison into whatever he desired. He remade his asteroid into a giant planet eating world that could transform to become a robot in the likeness of his former self. Over the millennia he grew stronger with each world, always searching for his foe and the only one who could destroy him. Even lessened by a physical form Unicron’s powers were immense and not known with any degree of certainty. Unicron can remake life forms into his servants, transport matter through time and space though he cannot do this with himself as his mass is too great. The mind of this fallen godlike being is so vast and powerful, even the strongest wills can be turned to his purposes. However, as Unicron created his new physical form Primus made his asteroid into the planet Cybertron and had created the Transformers as the last line of defence against Unicron’s coming. He had distilled his life force and placed it into the Creation Matrix, a life form in itself which can create life and remake it. In this concentrated form Primus’ life force became a means with which to Unicron. In the many alternate time-lines Unicron always found Cybertron, be it in 1991 or 2005. In each case he sent a herald before him to hamper the Transformers efforts and destroy the Matrix. In the main time-line (which has the Generation 2 comic as its future) he arrived in 1991 and was utterly destroyed by Optimus Prime wielding the Matrix. In one alternate future (with Transformers the Movie as the future) Unicron was defeated by Rodimus Prime with the Matrix, but part of him managed to survive. Later, Rodimus Prime together with the mercenary Death’s Head and the Junkeon leader Wreck-gar, destroyed last remnants of his physical form before Unicron could be rebuilt on the planet of Junk by its enslaved inhabitants. However the cost was that of Unicron being imprisoned in the Matrix. From within the Matrix Unicron possessed Rodimus Prime several times. Though able to defeat the evil within, Rodimus Prime weakened and aged visibly thorough his struggle with the Chaos-Bringer. Unicron is still is contained within the Matrix as late as 2356, but was showing signs of gaining control once again...... In a third dark universe, Unicron succeeded in destroying Cybertron leaving Earth to Galvatron and the Decepticons.
Death's Head
Created as an assassin, Death’s Head killed his creator and set himself up as a “freelance peacekeeping agent” (bounty hunter really but you never call him that to his face), for hire to the highest bidder. A true business man, in 2006 he responded to Rodimus Prime’s bounty on Galvatron after the Decepticon leader vanished in the aftermath of the battle with Unicron. Death’s Head hunted down Cyclonus and Scourge and after beating them senseless, discovered that Galvatron had returned to the past. Death’s Head followed him there but in turn was followed by Prime who in fear of the damage both Galvatron and Death’s Head could do to the past, went after Galvatron himself. Death’s Head held his own against the nearly invincible Decepticon bur was hampered by the efforts of Prime and his fellow Autobots Blurr and Kup. Autobot ally Wreck-Gar was able to send everyone but Galvatron back to the future which annoyed Death’s Head, such that he later took a bounty placed on Prime by Decepticon leader Shockwave. He hunted Prime down but was denied his kill by Cyclonus and Scourge who wanted Prime for themselves as well as the bounty hunter’s head. In the ensuing chaos Prime was able to lead Death’s Head through the underground tunnels of Cybertron to Autobase where he captured the bounty hunter and gave him the same bounty as had been on his head for Cyclonus and Scourge. Death’s Head joyfully accepted. Death’s Head hunted down Cyclonus and Scourge on the planet of Junk but was ensnared by Unicron who using the Junkeons to rebuild his body (his whole body except for his head had been destroyed). He sent Death’s Head, Cyclonus and Scourge to kill Shockwave and claim the Decepticon leadership. Death’s Head forced by Unicron’s will complied and with no joy killed Shockwave. Upon Shockwave’s remains he swore vengeance upon Unicron for both of them. So while Cyclonus and Scourge lead an all out assault on the Autobots that was intended to wipe out both sides, leaving Cybertron helpless to face Unicron, Death’s Head returned to Junk. There he defied Unicron and assisted Rodimus Prime and Wreck-Gar to destroy Unicron’s body. However to escape the explosion he jumped through Unicron’s time portal and was never seen again.
